BABY TRAVEL ESSENTIALS
Traveling with a baby is a lot easier than most people believe.
Babies are the perfect travel companion. They fly for free (except taxes for international flights), drink milk, don’t complain, and sleep most of the day. You couldn’t ask for a better travel buddy.
There is only one drawback with traveling with a baby, their travel gear.
Packing all the right travel essentials for your baby can seem like an overwhelming task, but it doesn’t have to be.
- We are here to answer your question.
- What do you need to travel with an infant?
- Do you need a travel crib?
- Is a diaper bag considered a carry-on?
- What should I pack in my diaper bag?
We have been traveling with our baby since he was 8-weeks old. After almost two years, we have put together the must-have items when traveling with a baby.
BABY TRAVEL GEAR MUST-HAVES
Travel System
Lightweight Convertible Car Seat
Car Seat Travel Bag
Ergobaby Carrier
There is always a great debate in Facebook groups of strollers vs. baby carrier. There is no doubt a baby carrier is one of our must-haves when traveling with a baby. Babies are light and easy to carry. Baby carriers are less of a hassle than a stroller and allow you a lot of flexibility. While in Beijing, I wore our baby for upwards of 6 hours at a time with no problem. The key to traveling with a baby carrier is having a comfortable fit for you. I recommend purchasing different brands to try for a few days.
We purchased the Baby Steps Ergonomic Baby Carrier for less than $50 and loved it. This baby carrier offered versatility to wear your baby front, back, and even on your side; without putting unnecessary stress on your body. Although it isn’t as compact as other baby carriers, we recommend this brand if you are looking for a comfortable and affordable option.

No products found.Since we started traveling with our baby we have learned cosleeping is not for us. He would sleep through the night in his crib, but after returning from a trip he would cry until we let him sleep with us. We finally realized we were causing his sleep regression and decided to buy an infant travel bed. We purchased the Kidco Peapod Infant Travel Bed, and now it is his fulltime bed. He sleeps in his travel tent through the night with no problem.

That was something I finally learned after 4 kids, you don’t need the whole nursery when you leave for a short outing! A small diaper bag is just fine. I always take the bottle, extra set of clothes, diaper, wipes, a toy, a snack (cause I have a baby who is also eating solids in addition to drinking bottles) a zipper bag for soiled clothes, and a blanket for cuddles. Easy peasy! Much easier on my back! Haha. #client
I agree. Some things are must-haves, but a few of these things are optional. I like to include different options because all babies are different.
Great post!! Items mentioned in the blog are all essential while traveling with a baby. Keep sharing more!
