LEGOLAND FLORIDA WITH TODDLERS

We went to LEGOLAND Florida, to celebrate our son’s second birthday and had a blast.

Visiting LEGOLAND Flordia with a toddler is so much fun. Although he wasn’t quite two yet, there was so much for him to do.

It wasn’t too crowded, so we were able to enjoy most of the rides without a long wait. We were also there in October, so we got to trick-or-treat while we were there.

HEIGHT REQUIREMENT FOR TODDLERS AT LEGOLAND FLORIDA

When we decided to go to LEGOLAND Florida with our toddler, we were concerned about his height.

We worried that he would not be able to get many of the rides due to his height. At the time, he was around 32″ tall.

Luckily, LEGOLAND Florida is perfect for toddlers. They can get on most of the rides, and there is a specific section dedicated to young kids.

There are height/age requirements for most of the rides in the park. Your little one can get on all of the rides in DUPLO City, but there may be a few that they cannot ride throughout the park.

We rode quite a few rides with our one-year-old when we went to LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

Here is the list of the best rides for toddlers at LEGOLAND Florida, plus the play areas just for kids under five years old.

BEST RIDES IN LEGOLAND FLORIDA WITH A TODDLER

You don’t have to hunt for things to do with your toddler while at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. We’ve done all the work for you.

Here are all of the rides that are perfect for spending a day at LEGOLAND Florida with a toddler.

DUPLO Valley

DUPLO Valley is the portion of LEGOLAND Florida that is dedicated to toddlers. This is where most babies and young kids under three years old will spend most of their time.

Toddlers will love this area because everything is just their size. Here are all of the rides in DUPLO Valley for toddlers.

DUPLO® Train

Our little guy loves trains, so we spent a lot of time on the train ride. Toddlers under 34″ need an adult to accompany them on the ride.

We rode this train at least five times, which was great because there wasn’t a line, so we got off and got right back on again.

DUPLO® Tractor

The DUPLO® Tractor is one of the most popular toddler rides. Since the train wasn’t open at the time, the line for this ride was long. It’s similar to the train, but your little one can feel in control by pretending to drive.

All kids under 42″ must ride with an adult, but handheld infants aren’t allowed. Honestly, your toddler will probably want to get on this ride over and over, but it’s cute, and there are LEGO farm animals.

Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse

The Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse is an indoor play area for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. There are interactive learning games, pretend play and soft-play activities.

This is the perfect place to go to get a break from the heat or escape the rain on a wet day.

Note: There is a Baby Care Center for parents with little ones. LEGOLAND has one of the best centers for babies with air-conditioning, water, a play area, a sink, and comfortable seating for breastfeeding.

DUPLO® Tot Spot

The DUPLO® Tot Spot is just for toddlers two years old and younger. There is a playhouse, small slide, and LEGOS for your little one to play with.

The ground is soft in this area, so if your little one is still crawling, they’ll be safe. The Tot Spot is the perfect place for them to explore.

There are soft LEGO building blocks along with regular ones for older kids to build. Our little guy didn’t want to leave this section, we had to promise to return before leaving the park.

The DUPLO® Splash & Play area is a small splash pad just for toddlers. This area has soft padding on the ground so your little ones are protected if they fall.

Safari Trek

Safari Trek was the one ride our little one was not able to ride. The minimum height is 34″, and he was slightly too short, which was a bummer because he really wanted to see the animals.

If he wore a different pair of shoes, he would have made the height requirement, but the rules are in place for a reason.

On this ride, your little one takes a safari in a Jeep to see all the animals on an African safari. Of course, the animals are designed from LEGOS, so it makes it even cooler to see.

Note: There is a quiet room inside the Baby Care Center for visitors on the autism spectrum. This room has weighted blankets, LEGO building blocks, tables, fidget toys, and noise-canceling headphones.

Land of Adventure with Toddlers

Land of adventure is an Egyptian-inspired area of the theme park. In this area, you’ll find a fun play area, a 3-D ride, and a ride with a thrilling 15-foot drop.

Pharaoh’s Revenge

This is an outdoor play area where your little one can run wild. It’s the perfect place to let your little one release energy before taking a nap or right before leaving the park.

In this section, your toddler can explore a maze, swing on ropes, climb ladders, and crawl through tunnels. You can also join the fun by shooting foam balls at your kids.

Honestly, this is one of my favorite areas in the park. Kids can run around and be kids, and you can sit down for a little break.

Beetle Bounce

The minimum height for Beetle Bounce is 36″, so we weren’t able to get on this ride. It’s a simple ride with a thrilling 15-foot drop at a moderate speed.

Imagination Zone with Toddlers

Toddler playing at Imagination Zone
Playing inside Imagination Zone

We spent nearly an hour inside Imagination Zone and if he had it his way we would have been there even longer.

We love it because it’s air-conditioned so you can get a break on a hot summer day. Plus, there is so much for kids, especially preschoolers to do.

Preschoolers will enjoy building cars or ships to race. There are different sizes of LEGO blocks, so younger kids can play with the larger blocks, while older kids can use the smaller blocks.

If you have older kids, or even teenagers tagging along with you, there is a game room with game consoles.

They are not the games that most teenagers play, but they can play the LEGO games and still have fun.

LEGO® Kingdoms

Royal Joust

The Royal Joust is so cool. There is an age and height requirement for this ride, so our son wasn’t able to get on the horse and ride.

The minimum age is four years old, plus they have to be at least 36″. If your toddler meets these requirements, they will be taken back to medieval times.

They’ll ride their LEGO horse through a forest, where they’ll joust knights and run into some interesting creatures along the way. This is a must for preschoolers visiting LEGOLAND Florida.

The Forestmen’s Hideout

The Forestmen’s Hideout is a fun play area where kids can run, play, climb, and swing. While we were there our son ran around and had fun.

Although there isn’t an age requirement, I recommend accompanying your toddler. Older kids tend to run without looking down for smaller kids, so you may need to keep an eye out for them.

He spent most of the time running under the play area, as opposed to on it, but nevertheless, he had a great time. All he needs is open space and he is ready to run.

Don’t Forget Travel Insurance

LEGO® Technic

Technic Tot Spot

The Technic Tot Spot is the best place for kids under two years old. This is the area for young toddlers and babies who aren’t old enough to get on rides.

Babies who are crawling, pulling, and learning how to walk they can do so here. It’s the best place in LEGOLAND Florida for babies.

Technicycle

The Technicycle is a fun flying bicycle. Your toddler will love flying through the air while they pedal.

The minimum height requirement is 36″, and they have to be accompanied by an adult.

Fun Town with Preschoolers

The Grand Carousel

Since there is no height requirement, the Grand Carousel is the perfect ride for babies and toddlers.

You and your little ones can ride as much as you want on this double-decker carousel.

Build-Your-Art Gallery

If your toddlers like art, this is the best place to be. Here is where your toddler can create a masterpiece by decorating with LEGO® DOTS.

LEGO® DOTS are fun and colorful and add a little more creativity and personality to your LEGO creations.

LEGO® Movie World with Preschoolers

Benny’s Play Ship

Benny’s Play Ship is a playground where kids can run, jump, slide, and climb.

Although there isn’t a height requirement, I don’t recommend kids under 2.5-3 years old to play in this area.

There will be kids running around, so smaller toddlers can get hurt playing with the older kids.

Emmet’s Super Suite

While exploring downtown Bricksburg, take a minute to check out Emmet’s apartment.

This is where you will find Emmet and some of his friends hanging out. It’s the perfect place to get pictures with the LEGO movie characters.

You don’t have to worry about a height requirement for this section of the part. Stroll around and get pictures of your little ones with the cool LEGO creations.

Miniland USA

Trying to climb into the display to play. Don’t worry, we caught him before he got to the characters.

I love walking through Miniland USA. It is so cool to see landmarks in LEGO form. I’m a little embarrassed to say our little one enjoyed Miniland a little too much.

We spent most of the time trying to keep him from climbing inside the displays to play with the LEGOS. The things they can do with LEGOS are mind-blowing.

You can see Daytona Speedway, Kennedy Space Center, Florida State Capitol, Key West, and other notable places in Florida and the US in general.

BEST FOOD IN LEGOLAND FLORIDA FOR TODDLERS

You can’t go to LEGOLAND without getting apple fries. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures because our little one gets impatient.

You can’t go wrong with apples with cinnamon and sugar, with dipping sauce and whipped cream.

TIPS FOR VISITING LEGOLAND FLORDIA WITH A TODDLER

Go during the week

The best time to go to any theme park is during the week, preferably Tuesday through Thursday. Most parents are at work, and kids are in school, so the rides are empty.

During the week is the perfect time to get on all the rides without worrying about a lot of people.

Relax in the Baby Care Center

LEGOLAND has the best baby care centers of all the theme parks we have been to with our toddler. Everything is always clean, plus there is a play area for older kids if you need it.

This is the perfect place to get some cool air on a hot day, or to sit down and have a cup of water.

Spend a lot of time in DUPLO Valley

DUPLO Valley is the ultimate place area for young toddlers. It’s the best place for kids two and under to play until they drop.

Everything is close together, so you don’t have to do a lot of walking to get to the rides. If you are at LEGOLAND Florida with toddlers, this is the place to be.

This is where you’ll have a chance to relax while your toddler plays with other kids their age.

Bring snacks

We are all about saving money, so we like to bring our snacks and lunch. The food at LEGOLAND Florida is good, but the cost adds up quickly.

Our son doesn’t go anywhere without his cup, so we always have something to drink for him.

Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed inside the park, but they make exceptions for young kids.

IS LEGOLAND FLORIDA WITH A TODDLER WORTH IT?

Absolutely!! LEGOLAND Florida is one of our favorite theme parks for toddlers. There are dedicated areas just for the little ones, even if they are still crawling.

My favorite thing about LEGOLAND is the baby center. It is one of the best baby centers of any theme park that we’ve been to. It is air-conditioned, has a play area for kids, sinks, water, seats, and a comfortable place to pump or breastfeed your baby.

LEGOLAND is absolutely one of the best theme parks for toddlers, plus kids under three years old get in free, so why not go?
